Calculate it by hand

Multiply measured floor area by (1 + your allowance percentage ÷ 100). Divide that result by the coverage per pack, then round up to a whole pack.

Estimates use the measurements and allowances you enter. Confirm them with your installer before ordering.

Area including allowance = measured area × (1 + allowance ÷ 100). Packs = that area ÷ pack coverage, rounded up.

What waste allowance should I enter?

Use the allowance agreed with your installer for the room shape and laying pattern. This calculator does not recommend a percentage.

Can I add several rooms?

Measure each room or section, add the areas and enter the total. Confirm whether offcuts can be shared between rooms before choosing your allowance.

Does it calculate herringbone layouts?

It calculates area and packs using your inputs. It does not lay out individual boards or calculate pattern-specific cuts.
