## How these tools are built

The calculators show their arithmetic and use your measurements. Acoustic standards and legal guidance link to their sources: the National Construction Code, the AAAC rating guideline, ISO and ASTM standards, state legislation, government guidance and tribunal decisions. Check the relevant building documents before relying on a result.

No tool invents a pass mark. Where a result depends on the figure in your by-law or approval, the tool asks you to type it in from your own documents.
